What’s your story, Jeff?

Hi there. I’m Jeff Good. I’m sorry if you thought you had stumbled upon the portfolio of Jeff Goodby. This would be so much easier for the both of us if I were Jeff Goodby.

I’m a Creative Director with a copy background. I’ve always felt like working as a creative is kinda like fly fishing — tons of rejection. And yet you stay out there all day because you know that if you just keep at it you’ll catch that idea. (Also, it usually ends with a sunburn.)

Full disclosure - I’ve never actually been fly fishing. But I did see it on ESPN2 once, so I think we can all agree I’m familiar enough with the sport to reference it with authority.

I truly love coming up with (and helping creative teams get to) big ideas and sharp executions that break through the noise of modern life and help clients solve business problems. I think the creatives I've managed (from junior to ACD) would vouch that I am the kind of CD people want to work for.

Searching for the big idea will always be near and dear to my heart, but scripts, headlines, social campaigns, earned media activations, two-page advertorials and everything in between are lovely as well. My favorite part of all of it? Presenting work I believe in to clients and helping them see how it will help solve the business problem they briefed us on.

For fun times, I like listening to Kurt Vile, Neil Young, Big Thief and obscure ambient music, being frustrated by Philadelphia sports (rejection!), and getting lost in cities and flea markets with my wife and son. (acceptance!, love!, other good feelings!).
